Dr. Beardmore is a clinical expert in the assessment and treatment of neurodevelopmental conditions, known for pairing deep diagnostic skill with a genuinely warm, human touch that puts clients and families at ease. She came to this work through love. Growing up in rural Iowa with a sister who received an autism diagnosis at a time when the field — and the resources available — looked very different, she witnessed firsthand the gap between what families needed and what they could access. Her family didn't have much, and didn't know much. But that big-sister instinct never left. Steady, warm, and genuinely in your corner — that's what she brings to every client she works with today.
Dr. Beardmore is a licensed psychologist with expertise in the assessment and treatment of children, adolescents, and young adults with neurodevelopmental conditions — including autism spectrum disorder, ADHD, intellectual disability, and specific learning disabilities — as well as the emotional and nervous system challenges that frequently accompany them, including anxiety, depression, and the lasting impact of traumatic and adverse experiences. She also welcomes individuals whose primary concerns are anxiety, depression, or emotional dysregulation. Her practice is LGBTQIA+ affirming and celebrates gender, cultural, and neurodiversity in all its forms.
Her Approach
Dr. Beardmore's therapeutic approach is integrative and genuinely holistic — drawing from both "Western" evidence-based frameworks, including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), and "Eastern"-rooted practices that work directly with the nervous system, such as mindfulness, breathwork, and polyvagal-informed interventions. She believes that lasting change lives at the intersection of mind and body.
Collaborative care is central to how she works. She regularly partners with psychiatrists, occupational therapists, and providers across disciplines to ensure each person is supported as a whole. Whatever the approach, her work is guided by a core belief: every individual carries inherent strengths, and her role is to help them access those strengths to navigate both internal challenges and external pressures.
Training & Experience
Dr. Beardmore received her graduate training at the University of Arizona, where she worked across school and community mental health settings delivering both therapeutic services and diagnostic evaluations. During her predoctoral internship, she served as evaluation coordinator at a K–8 school, overseeing assessments for special education eligibility while also providing evidence-based behavioral and academic interventions.
Her postdoctoral training was split between The Help Group, where she deepened her expertise in psychotherapy with autistic youth and comprehensive developmental and diagnostic assessments, and UCLA's Center for Autism Research and Treatment (CART). She later worked at a specialized nonpublic school, where she developed a social skills program and provided coaching for teachers and parents.
Most recently, she served as Senior Psychologist at Spectrum Psych Los Angeles, where she divided her time between assessment and therapy, consulted with colleagues across disciplines, supervised fellow clinicians, and provided expert testimony.
